The success of the MPMSF has allowed us to assist numerous students at North Metro Technical College, Chattahoochee Tech and Appalachian Tech. To date, we awarded $33, 500 in scholarships. The MPMSF continues to grow each year and we are delighted to be able to help other aspiring students with their education in Mike’s name.
As many of you know, our primary fund raiser is the Mike Peterson Memorial Golf Tournament. This year will mark year seven of what has become a highly anticipated event with over 140 golfers last year. Each year, the tournament grows and we are proud to say it gets better every year as well! Our goal is to make the tournament a fun, exciting day for everyone to celebrate Mike’s life and to also continue to raise money for the scholarship fund.
We are so very thankful for the support over the years that has allowed this event to be the success that it is. It is time again to begin planning this year’s tournament and we graciously ask all past supporters, as well as new friends and colleagues, to help us plan, raise funds and participate in the tournament. Eight years have gone by since our son, Mike Peterson, passed away. In that time, we are proud to say that his memory lives on in so many ways. Not only through family and friends, but also through the Mike Peterson Memorial Scholarship Fund. We established this fund to create a way to assist students enrolled in automotives at area vocational schools. Mike’s true passion, besides life itself, was automotives. We believe that the best way to memorialize Mike is by helping others who share Mike’s passion pursuing an education in this field.
